There are a number of parks to take babies to on Kona in Hawaii. Kona Coast State Park and Magic Sands Beach Park Laaloa Beach Park both offer plenty of sand and surf for baby to play in. Kona Coast State Park also has picnic benches so that you can picnic with your baby out in the sunshine. Another park on Kona, Harold H. Higashihara Park, has a specially designed playground for babies that includes pint-size play structures and a choo-choo train.
Kona offers many different sights that babies would love. Whale watching tours both on land and at sea, as well as glass bottom boat tours in the bays, are ideal for curious tots. If your baby has never seen Hawaii before, these and other sightseeing trips in the area are perfect to expose them to new and exciting sights.
Let your little one bite into some delicious fresh fare from the Kona Farmer's Market. This farmer's market is famous for selling local produce and locally made items for bargain prices. Kona Farmer's Market is located in the Kona Inn parking lot and is open weekly every Wednesday and Saturday from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Be sure to skip the stroller and use a baby carrier here because the market can get very crowded.
For animal-loving babes, visit attractions such as the Ocean Rider Seahorse Farm, where you can learn all about these sea animals, and Panaewa Rainforest Zoo, where babies get the chance to enter a rain forest and see animals from that environment such as the Spider monkey and Hawaiian birds. The zoo has a petting zoo specially designed for little ones. The petting zoo is open Saturdays from 1:30 to 2:30 and includes baby friendly animals such as ducks, goats, guinea pigs and llamas.
