Sea World in San Diego, California offers three interactive programs for visitors. The Beluga Interaction, the Dolphin Interaction and the Dolphin Encounter are all options during a visit. The Beluga and Dolphin Interactions allow very few guests per day the rare opportunity to interact with these breathtaking creatures. Guests are taught hand signals to communicate with the whales and dolphins, and are able to feed and touch them while swimming alongside them. The Dolphin Encounter also allows guests to participate in the same activities of the interactions, but without getting in the water. Dolphin World allows guests several locations and options for the ideal dolphin swim. Locations of this water park include Miami and Orlando, Florida, the Dominican Republic, Key Largo Keys, Hawaii and Mexico. Whether you choose one of the dolphin swim programs, dolphin encounters programs or the wild dolphin encounters, each is sure to be a unique experience. There are several programs to choose from, based on a number of options. Children participants swim in an enclosed area, while adults can choose to swim in the natural environment of the marine mammals. Dolphin Cove is located in Key Largo, Florida and offers a wide variety of dolphin interactions. From the standard swimming with dolphins, several location are available. The natural swim is for guests 8 years and older, who are strong swimmers and comfortable with mask and fins. The structured swim is for guest 7 years and older, and the shallow water encounter is designed for kids as young as 3. Guests 13 years and older can enroll in the trainer-for-a-day program. Qualifications include very strong swimmers accustomed to snorkeling. Also offered is a package entitled "Painting With Dolphins." While seated on a floating platform on the water, guests ages 7 and older can select the color palette and hold up a white canvas, allowing the dolphin to be the artist. A picture is provided of man and mammal working together, creating a painted masterpiece.
A package purchased at the all-inclusive Discovery Cove includes the Serenity Bay, Coral Reef and the Wind-Away River. New to Dolphin Cove in June 2011 is the Grand Reef.
