Awarded as the "Best Branson Restaurant" by an area newspaper, the Candlestick Inn is a favorite in the "Silver Dollar City." While some couples dine on the outdoor deck, others prefer to enjoy a romantic dinner in the main dining room. Smalll groups are served in the Inn's Taneycomo Room -- an inviting area with a lovely view.
The restaurant offers a unique menu designed for a mature crowd. Appetizers include calamari, escargot and wild boar sausage. Entrees range from Chicken Cordon Bleu and Frenched Elk Rack to lobster tail and Vegetable Wellington. While the menu is not inexpensive, the Candlestick claims "the finest meats and seafood {are} flown in daily to create imaginative salad, appetizer and entrée features." Other highlights of the Inn include a martini bar and varied wine list.
Just across from Presley's Theater, Charlie's has been serving up juicy steaks and pork to families since 1999. The restaurant is also a microbrewery sporting a rustic atmosphere and wildlife twist. In fact, Gaylord the bull amuses customers as they listen to country oldies.
Charlie's features reasonably-priced, large helpings of food. The familiar starters range from fried mushrooms to Texas hot wings. Besides steak, sandwiches and burgers, Charlie's boasts an extensive menu including such favorites as the BBQ Combo, Catfish, Chicken Fried Steak and Texas Style Beef Burrito. All steaks are hand-cut and the meats are smoked in-house.
Just outside the Dick Clark Theatre, families dine at the Bandstand Grill. The restaurant/diner is decorated with vintage albums, Frankie Avalon's surfboard and more. Guests are treated to old Bandstand shows playing on the monitors. Light eaters can enjoy Dick's fajita salad or house Caesar salad. Hungrier diners can choose from Philly cheese steak, barbecue pulled beef, baby back ribs, steak and shrimp and more. There are several Dick Clark's found around the nation.
Seafood is always featured at Landry's -- a chain restaurant along the strip serving singles, families and bus tourists. Landry's offers mostly fresh fish in varying-sized portions. While the prices as of 2011 range on the high side, Landry's remains popular.The menu offers many selections including cold and hot appetizers, oysters, sandwiches, fresh fish, shrimp and shellfish, platters and a few pasta and meat selections. All entrees are served with Landry's special salad bowl and garlic bread upon request.
