Asian Nightclubs in Hawaii

There are two types of Asian clubs in Hawaii: Those that cater strictly to the Asian demographic; and those that are Asian-themed. It is difficult to find clubs that cater only to Asians due to discrimination issues. However, there are plenty of Asian-themed clubs. Most clubs in Hawaii are open from 10 p.m. to 2 a.m., though a few stay open later.

  1. Ginza Nightclub

    • Ginza Nightclub is a members-only venue for Asians in Honolulu. You need to have a special Ginza card or accompany a cardholder to enter the club. There is a strict dress code, as the club tries to maintain a classy atmosphere. To get a membership application, you need to contact the club. The club is open from 10:30 p.m. to 4 a.m. on Fridays and Saturdays. All members must be older than 21 and be of Asian descent or referred by a person of Asian descent. The club itself has three bars and has been remodeled with an emphasis on black. any The music focuses on Top 40s, hip-hop and dance music. The dance floor can get packed.

    Ka Restaurant & Lounge

    • This is a Honolulu restaurant and lounge during the day but turns in to a nightclub at night. The owners of Ka also own the Ginza club. After 11 p.m. the club is crowded but not rowdy. The club is open from 10 p.m. to 2 a.m. on Fridays and Saturdays. You may have to wait on line for some time to get in. Once a month on the first Friday, there is a "Taboo" night, and it transforms itself into a gay club for the evening. The club is very spacious with a full bar. The menu was designed around Asian food, specializing in Asian-style pizzas. The decor also takes advantage of red, a lucky color in China.

    The O Lounge

    • The O Lounge is an Asian-inspired nightclub near the Ala Moana Shopping Center in Honolulu. The walls of the club are decorated with Asian-style paintings. Tassels and Chinese lanterns hang from the ceiling, and red and orange colors used extensively throughout (these colors are considered good luck in many Asian cultures). The music features R&B and hip-hop. The club may not look that large, but there is a second room in the back that has a full bar. There are four VIP rooms, each with a separate theme and private bar. The lounge is open from 9:30 p.m. to 2 a.m. nightly.
