June Events & Festivals in Upstate New York

Upstate New York is a picturesque region full of towns and cities marked by lakes, mountains, and forests. Those who aren't fans of the colder months typical of Upstate New York will find June to be a pleasant month to visit the area. Whether you head to the Adirondacks; Albany, the state's capital; Rochester; Glen Falls, or any other town or city in the area, June is a month filled with enough festivals and events to keep you well occupied.

  1. Car Shows

    • Whether you're a father or a son, a mother or a daughter, celebrate Father's Day Weekend in Upstate New York at the annual Father's Day Car Show in Old Forge, New York, located just north of Utica. The show features a number of both antique and street rod cars. Visitors can choose to show their classic or street rod cars and be entered for a cash prize which is awarded to the best cars, or simply enjoy the festivities. The event takes place at the George T. Hiltebrant Recreation Center and food and beverages are available at the festival.

    Free Concerts

    • The city of Albany, located in Upstate New York hosts an annual Father's Day Concert on Father's Day in June. Guests attend the concert free of charge and are welcome to enjoy the featured music venue with friends and family. Following the concert, the event concludes with a large display of impressive fireworks over the Hudson River. Visitors can spend an afternoon enjoying the scenic river views at the Albany Riverfront Park and then conclude the day with a concert and fireworks.

    Nature Festivals

    • Nature lovers and bird lovers alike will enjoy spending a weekend in June in the Adirondacks at the annual Adirondack Birding Festival. The festival takes place over the course of three days at County Wide Lake in Pleasant, New York and features the Boreal Birds native to the Adirondack mountains. Those attending the festival are required to register ahead of time in order to participate in the festival's activities, inclusive of walks, seminars, hikes, and canoe trips.

    Food & Wine Festivals

    • There is no better way to experience Upstate New York than by attending the infamous New York State Food and Wine Festival that takes place each year in June. The three day festival features food and wine native to the state and takes place in 1000 Islands, New York on the St. Lawrence river. Exhibitors from across the state come and feature their food and wine and offer guests the ability to both sample and buy their products.
