Atlantic City is once again among the more popular tourist sites in the United States. Known for its night life and theatrical productions in the 1930s and ‘40s, the addition of casinos led to a rebirth in the 1970s. Its boardwalk, piers, lighthouse, aquarium and casinos provide a variety of indoor and outdoor activities. There are also a number of campgrounds in the area from which to choose.
Ten minutes from the boardwalk, casinos and beaches of Atlantic City, Pomona RV Park & Campground features outdoor picnic tables, a swimming pool, fire rings, horseshoes, playground, game room, laundry room and free cable television and wireless Internet access. Also close by is the Mullica River, along with Story Book Land, historic Smithville Village and the other attractions of Atlantic City. Pets are allowed in the park, which also features an Olympic-size swimming pool and a kiddie pool, horseshoe pits, basketball court, bocce ball, game room, playground, activity lodge, laundry, playground and spa. Free cable television and wireless Internet are available, along with coffee and ice cream shops. The park is open from April 1 to October 31 with facilities designed to handle family reunions and rallies.
Whippoorwill is only three miles from the beaches of Ocean City, placing it close to the boardwalk and casinos of Atlantic City, along with golf, shopping and restaurants. Local attractions include Cape May County Park & Zoo, Wetlands Institute and two amusement parks. There is also fishing, sailing and jet skiing. The campground is set up to accommodate anything from tents to large motor homes, and also offers air conditioned cabins. The site includes a kiddie pool and full-size pool, sand playground, volleyball and tennis courts, arcade and snack bar. Set in a wooded area, fire rings and picnic tables are also available.
