  1. MacCool’s Public House

    • MacCool’s Public House is an Irish family restaurant plus pub with three locations in Utah: Salt Lake City, Layton and South Jordan. It offers traditional Irish favorites such as bangers and mash, which is sausages and mashed potatoes; gravlax, cured salmon with warm potato cake; corned beef and cabbage; Guinness stew; calamari; shepherd's pie; boxty, a potato pancake; lamb ribs; Irish stew; lobster stew; and fish and chips. It also offers a children’s menu. MacCool’s has two fireplaces, darts and shuffleboard. It has a weekend brunch and live music on Thursday nights and on St. Patrick’s Day.

    • Flanagan’s Irish Pub and Restaurant on Main Street in the ski town of Park City offers Irish beer along with traditional Irish favorites such as bangers and mash, boxty, Irish stew, fish and chips, corned beef and cabbage and shepherd’s pie. It has a children’s menu with macaroni and cheese, chicken fingers and apples and cheese served with boxty. Flanagan’s serves other traditional Irish favorites, such as Irish brown or soda bread and champ -- mashed potatoes with scallions.

Green Street goes all out for St. Patrick’s Day, with corned beef and cabbage, stew and green beer. It also features a Sunday brunch and catering.

    Piper Down -- An Olde World Pub

    • Piper Down offers Irish cuisine and alcoholic beverages in Salt Lake City. Menu selections include fish and chips, shepherd's pie, Guinness meat pie and an "Irish Value Meal.” Piper Down has other pub food, such as French fries, banger wraps, buffalo wings and Reuben-style potato skins. It also has salads, sandwiches, wraps and tacos. Piper Down serves even more traditional Irish favorites at its annual St. Patrick’s Day blowout, which lasts five days. The pub has televisions, poker tournaments, karaoke, live music and a brunch on Saturdays and Sundays.

    • Murphy's Bar and Grill is an Irish pub in Salt Lake City that offers traditional Irish fare plus typical bar food, including Reuben sandwiches. Irish selections include fish and chips and beef boxty, served with Irish champ. During the week of St. Patrick’s Day, Murphy’s offer even more traditional Irish cuisine, such as corned beef and cabbage, Irish stew and Irish beer. It also has live bagpipe performances. Murphy’s Bar and Grill caters, especially for St. Patrick’s Day celebrations, and hosts private parties.
