Luna Restaurant originally was a construction yard with an on-site utility office building. It then became a greengrocer, and then a post office. Now that it is a restaurant on South Hill, it uses sustainable and seasonal ingredients that are grown locally to support local farmers. As of December 2010, this restaurant is the only one in Spokane that composts and recycles its organic materials with Waste Management. The private dining room, or banquet room, is named The Garden Room, and all areas are located on one level. The cuisine that is offered on the menu is inspired by the restaurant’s own garden, as well as that of other local gardeners, including Jan Danly, Dan Jackson Farms and Olsen Farms.
