How to Circumvent a Disney Biometric Scan

Walt Disney World uses fingerprint scanning of customers as a way to prevent the fraud and the reuse of tickets. Though the purpose is prevention of crime and fraud, there are reasons that individuals might not want their fingerprint scanned for a day of enjoyment. Many consider it a violation of privacy and prefer not to give fingerprints to the theme park.

Things You'll Need

  • Photo ID

Instructions

    • 1

Present a photo ID when purchasing the ticket. A photo ID is an identification that is not as personal as a fingerprint and is usually presented with a debit or credit card to verify identity.

    • 2

Decline giving the fingerprint. Disney parks are not police stations and it is a violation of privacy to require it. Though Disney does use the biometrics for customers, any customer who does not want to give a fingerprint is allowed to refuse for privacy reasons. When a fingerprint is requested, decline giving the fingerprint.

Present the photo ID to the ticket taker. Anyone with a photo ID who is uncomfortable giving Disney parks their fingerprints can present a photo ID instead, which acts as a confirmation that the ticket was purchased and is not a fake.
