A Disney vacation includes all of the aspects of a typical vacation: accommodations, transportation, attractions and dining. This is called a Disney vacation package, which is different than booking your accommodations and attraction tickets separately. One of the perks is that you can book the dining plan, which offers a 20 to 30 percent savings on food within the resort. This choice is not offered to those who do not book a Disney vacation package. Those not booking one can still dine at Disney, but they must do so at full prices.
Go to the Disney World website and scroll across the "Tickets and Packages" option on the site menu that is along the top of the page. A second menu will drop down and you should select "Book your Vacation" from the list of options.
Choose your check in and check out dates, as well as the number of adults and children in your party, under the "Book Vacation Packages" option. Then click on the "Advance Search" and choose the resort level or exact resort of your choice. You may also select a box if you want a suite or club level room or the dining plan. Click the orange "Continue" button.
View the price of your vacation package on the next page. You will also have the opportunity to upgrade or downgrade your room type, tickets and dining plan. Click on the orange "Continue" button to continue.
Check over your package contents and accept or decline travel insurance on the next page. You will also find out how much your deposit will be to reserve the package. If you are within 45 days of your trip, then you will need to pay the full amount. As of 2010, it was $200 at the time of reservation to reserve a Disney vacation package. Click the "Continue" button to proceed.
Pay the deposit with your credit or debit card. Click the "Continue" button to pay your deposit and confirm your Disney vacation package. You will have to pay off the balance before you are within 45 days of your check-in date.
