According to the Recreational Vehicle Industry Association, people have been driving recreational vehicles (RV) for 100 years. RV drivers run the gamut from young families to retirees. RV shows offer a chance for people interested in RVs to view the latest models, learn about accessories and often pick up tips about travel. The events are open to the public and offer exciting viewing opportunities for current and future recreation vehicle owners. RV shows occur all over the country and throughout the year. Arizona has a number of RV events each year.
Quartzsite is located off of Interstate 10 between the California border and Phoenix. The Sports, Vacation and RV Show takes place for nine days in January each year. The event is billed, “The Largest Gathering of RVs on Earth,” with exhibits both inside and outside. Visitors to the show are treated to live entertainment. They can also install accessories and service their own RVs. People can park their RVs in one of the 23 RV and trailer parks around Quartzsite or camp at one of the five campsites that allow over a week stays. This event is free to the public.
Phoenix hosts this annual event in February at the Phoenix Civic Plaza. In addition to displaying RVs, visitors get to see the latest in recreational equipment haulers such as bike racks and trailers. Vacation information including maps and park information is also available. To add to the fun, there is a model of a park that spans 1,300 square feet. Entertainment includes a virtual reptile zoo and a well stocked trout river. This event charges admission.
This annual March event takes place at the Arizona State Fairgrounds outside of Phoenix. Dealers of new and used recreational vehicles and boats come together in one location for three days. They use this event to offer deals on their stock to visitors. Those in the market for an RV find this a great place to find a bargain. This event charges admission.
The Arizona Sportsmen, Vacation and RV Show takes place annually for three days in April. Located between Flagstaff and Prescott, Cottonwood, Arizona hosts this multifaceted event. Besides a large selection of RVs the event also displays campers, SUVs and tent trailers. Visitors can attend seminars, get information on vacation spots and even fish in a man-made river. This event charges admission.
