Honeymoons are a time to celebrate the love that has been sealed through marriage vows and to concentrate on enjoying each other's company without the distraction of work. They are most often viewed as a time to splurge; however, spending a lot of money does not mean enjoyment. There are a few inexpensive honeymoon getaways you and your loved one can enjoy together that won't break the bank.
Consider celebrating your honeymoon in a local bed and breakfast outside of the city. Choose a bed-and-breakfast in a town with some local sites nearby so that you have some day activities to share together. Select a location near a state park or outdoor area, which will have activities like hiking, swimming or picnicking. This will provide opportunities to create memories together. Try calling the bed-and-breakfast ahead of time and inquiring about special accommodations for your honeymoon getaway, such as flowers, a nice bottle of wine or suggestions on a good nearby restaurant.
Despite having the reputation of being an expensive city, the saturation of accommodations and entertainment means there are some affordable choices for honeymooners on a budget. Many of the hotels provide packages for vacationing couples, which include vouchers for discounts at restaurants, musicals and theatrical shows. There are also free attractions in and around Las Vegas, such as the fountains of Bellagio, Conservatory at Bellagio, The Aquarium at the Silverton, the Lion Habitat at MGM Grand and the Wildlife Habitat at the Flamingo. Depending on your budget, you can select from a range of accommodations and have the option of visiting one of the many free attractions in Las Vegas.
An inexpensive way to enjoy a honeymoon getaway without blowing your budget is to take a road trip with your loved one for a few days. Take a map of the area you want to visit and highlight some destinations to stop at along the way. You can stay at budget motels and dine at local eateries to sample local cuisine.
