Hagar Shores, Michigan graces the sandy shoreline of southeastern Lake Michigan. Although it's called Hagar Shores, it's officially an unincorporated township known as Lake Michigan Beaches and the post office lists the town's addresses officially as Coloma, Michigan. If you're visiting, the confusion over the place names may drive you to the nearest bar.
Hagar Bar and Grill offers an interesting combination of a family-orientated atmosphere and nightlife. During the week they open at 2:30 p.m. for the dinner crowd with daily dinner specials large enough to feed a family. Their menu includes pizza, pasta, burgers and sandwiches, and by all accounts their perch is excellent. By happy hour the daily drink specials kick in. Every night Hagar's stays open until 2 a.m. On Thursdays, they run a karaoke night. During the weekends, they open at noon, and a DJ spins requested tunes in the evening.
Enjoy the main attraction in the area, Lake Michigan's beaches and sunsets, by taking a short walk from the bar to the beach.

DiMaggio's Pizza offers a wide selection of beer, drinks and wine, and it's the only other place in Hagar Shores that does. The pizzeria's history goes back 50 years to when Tony and Madeline DiMaggio moved from Chicago to the eastern Lake Michigan shoreline. When they moved they brought their recipes for their Chicago-style pizzas with them. After Tony and Madeline retired, they turned the business over to their son, Vince. He and his other three siblings own the pizzeria and continue to serve Tony's original recipes.
The beer menu, just Budweiser and Killian's red, is nothing to brag about, but the drink menu features a selection of scotch, including single-malt scotch from Glenfiddich and Macallan. Other classy old-time drinks include Cosmopolitans, Manhattans, Tom Collins and whiskey old fashioneds.
