Lake Winnebago is situated 32 miles west of Lake Michigan. Lake Winnebago is part of a chain of lakes called the Winnebago Pool. The chain includes Lake Butte des Morts, Lake Winneconne and Lake Poygan. Lake Winnebago’s nearly 140,000 acres means you will have plenty of room to maneuver on the water without worry about crowds. The area offers recreation during all four seasons and several resorts are open to serve guests year-round.
The Willows Resort sits on Lake Winnebago, offering lakeside cottages with one or two bedrooms and fully equipped kitchens. The resort also has two motel rooms and a home that holds up to eight. Bed linens are provided in the cottages; all accommodations include air conditioning and television. Charcoal grills and lawn furniture are supplied for guests. The resort’s 65 acres are a good site for birdwatching, and its secluded, park-like setting features nature trails for guest use. The property features a pier on the lake shore. Rental boats and motors and a sailboat, canoe and pontoon boats for rent are supplied by the management. Resort policy forbids pets, all lodging is non-smoking and most reservations require a two-night minimum stay. Special family rates are available.
