The Plainfield Fishing Resort is about 8 to 10 miles from Shorewood and provides a great alternative for a family vacation. Lake fishing often produces some quality catfish and trout. The lake does have a limit, however, on the number of fish a person can catch in a day. Vacationers can enjoy some of the finest areas for camping lakeside. The resort has access to row and paddle boats, a swimming pool and children's playgrounds. For those who drive in with an RV, there are several area sites with full facilities available for your pleasure.

Located roughly nine miles from Shorewood, Paul and Mary's Raceway Camping is mainly geared for auto racing fans, but centrally located around the Four Lakes area. The resort features 19 acres of land with spaces for pop-up tents and RVs. Public restrooms are set up on property, and the company provides water and electric in most spaces. Reservations are suggested and major credit cards are accepted. This facility is not open year-round. Pets are allowed. The location is just minutes away from fishing (limits may apply, check with local rangers) swimming, golf, hiking, and other water-related sports.
