The Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, California contains the original Disneyland Park, the first of the now worldwide Disney resorts, dating back to the 1950s. The California Adventure Park was added in 2001, along with several resort hotels.
Disneyland Park is comprised of various "lands" inspired by classic Disney films. Some of the lands include Fantasyland, Tomorrowland, Adventureland and Frontierland, in addition to other park areas such as Main Street USA and New Orleans Square. The park is open every day of the year until 8:00 p.m. or later.
Disney's California Adventure Park, adjacent to Disneyland Park, contains attractions and rides inspired by contemporary Disney films while still paying tribute to some of the classics. Park areas include the Sunshine Plaza, Paradise Pier and the Golden State, which features the popular ride "Soarin' Over California."
The Disneyland Resort has several hotels on the property with special amenities. The Grand Californian Hotel has a private entrance to the California Adventure Park, the Disneyland Hotel features a swimming pool complex and Disney's Paradise Pier Hotel boasts a rooftop pool and water slide.
