Fun Things to Do in Las Vegas When Under 18

Calling itself the Entertainment Capital of the World, Las Vegas, Nevada is home to many attractions, such as the MGM Grand Hotel's famous lion exhibit and the Mandalay Bay Hotel's shark reef exhibit. Children under 18 years old have plenty of things to do while in Vegas, including riding the roller coaster situated at the top of the 1,149 foot tall Stratosphere hotel roof.

  1. Adventuredome

    • Located directly by the casino hotel Circus Circus, the Adventuredome features a wide selection of both thrill rides and carnival-type games for younger crowds to enjoy. This indoor theme park opens every day at 10 a.m. and closes at 11 p.m. The Canyon Blaster roller coaster is equipped with a double-loop and sends passengers through the track at speeds of up to 55 mph. The Sling Shot tower offers guests the ability to rise up 50 feet into the air before plunging downwards to the bottom of the ride while pushing 4 g's of air pressure. During the month of October, this theme park turns into Fright Dome, featuring five haunted houses and a variety of scary mazes for all guests to enjoy for Halloween.

    Las Vegas Mini Gran Prix

    • Open every day of the year except Christmas Day, the Las Vegas Mini Gran Prix has four separate race tracks for all ages, including the Spring Kart Raceway and the Go Karts track. Older kids looking to accelerate their small cars at higher speeds can try out the adult Gran Prix cars that require passengers be equipped with a driver's license. Drivers can try to beat the track record as they turn quickly into right-angle turns and carefully avoid hitting the track's outlining lower walls in order to speed up during straight-aways. This Las Vegas attraction is open every day from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m.

    Gameworks

    • Situated on the Las Vegas strip near the MGM Grand Hotel, Gameworks is a large arcade facility that contains a full mix of classic as well as state-of-the-art video games. The Primeval Hunt arcade game featured at Gameworks is a shooting game that puts the gamer into the shoes of a dinosaur hunter as he tracks down and shoots pterodactyls, brontosauruses and stegosauruses. The Virtual Bowling section of this arcade facility gives you the opportunity to pick a real-life bowling ball and roll it down a life-like bowling alley in order to bowl a strike while aiming for a virtual set of bowling pins. Gameworks opens at 10 a.m. and closes at midnight Sunday through Thursday, 1 a.m. every Friday and Saturday.
