As one of the busiest cities in the world for nightlife and the weekend club scene. Los Angeles has a diverse array of bars and clubs. Dance clubs are popular nightspots and can be found in Hollywood, Westwood, Santa Monica and all the beach cities. Latin music is popular in Los Angeles dance clubs, played at high volume in palatial settings.
The downtown Mayan, which used to be a theater, hosts all kinds of entertainment, from salsa dancing to wrestling. Club nights take place on Fridays and Saturdays and each floor of the building takes on a different theme, such as tropical music, Spanish rock, '80s, disco and house. The Mayan Theatre is open every evening and usually has theme nights during the week.
