Night Clubs in Virginia

The state of Virginia has a number of cities with bustling nightlife scenes, featuring a variety of nightclub venues that range from dance clubs to live music joints to contemporary-style lounge/restaurants. On the east side, the coastal city of Virginia Beach and Richmond, the capital, are two of the largest party areas in the state. If you are over on the southwestern side and looking for fun, Roanoke may your best option for clubbing.
  1. Richmond Night Clubs

    • Club Infuzion is a dance club offering three bars and three separate dance floors, each enhanced by high-tech lighting and sound as well as video projectors and flatscreen TVs. Outside areas provide smoking space. Four VIP areas are situated in elevated platforms overlooking the dance floor. As of September 2010, Fridays are 18 and up while Saturdays are 21 and up with a $5 cover. There is free parking in an adjacent lot.

      The Canal Club is a live music located in the River District across the street from the Kanawha Canal. The club features national, local and regional acts throughout the week on one of two floors, each serviced by a separate bar. The top floor is the larger of the two, hosting the bigger acts; the bottom floor has a 450-person capacity, seating some in the back with standing room in the front. There is also a full food menu available.

    Virginia Beach Night Clubs

    • Peabody's is a dance club located on the Pacific Avenue strip, on the corner of 21st Street. The club draws a younger crowd, mostly college students from local universities. As of September 2010, Thursdays are ladies' nights, Fridays are college nights (free entry with school ID), and Saturdays are all-night DJ dance parties with Bash at the Beach.

      Hot Tuna is a bar and restaurant in the evening and a night club at night, as DJs and live bands take the stage to entertain young crowds. The club has no cover charge. Over-sized TV screens and funky, paper mache decorations of sea creatures add to the party atmosphere. As of September 2010, parties and entertainment begin at 10 p.m.

    Roanoke Night Clubs

    • 202 Market is a bar, lounge and restaurant featuring live entertainment and special activities Monday through Saturday. The restaurant serves up light fare including appetizers, pastas, risotto and greens, as well a variety of meat and seafood dishes like lump crab cakes and rack of lamb. The bar and lounge hosts the entertainment, providing full alcohol service; the top-floor houses a second lounge, adorned with local artwork.
