The St. George Island State Park was recognized by Florida Monthly magazine as the best beach in Florida and was second best state park in the Best of Florida edition. The park offers a range of outdoor activities such as fishing, kayaking, boating, camping and bird watching. There are 9 miles of beach to enjoy, rentable boats and kayaks as well as 60 campsites located a quarter mile from the beach with electricity and water hook ups, hot showers, playgrounds and nature trails for hiking. The St. George Island State Park is open daily from 8 a.m. to sunset.
