Originally a casual place for people to stop to get ice cream and play miniature golf back in the '50s and '60s, this restaurant has had a few different names before opening as The Boat House in 1999. Opened year round, families can enjoy the casual ambiance while watching breathtaking sunsets on Lake Wallenpaupack. While The Boat House serves American fare such as barbecued ribs, chicken Florentine, and Yankee pot roast, the bulk of the menu centers on seafood. Diners can begin their meals with a bowl of seafood bisque and a pepper-grilled tuna salad. A wealth of seafood appetizers are available from calamari and Maryland-style shrimp, to little neck clams and crab dip. Feast on bourbon-glazed salmon, Maryland-style crab cakes, Chilean sea bass, fried jumbo shrimp, or honey- and-lime glazed scallops. Meals are served with bread, salad, vegetable of the day, and a choice of baked or mashed potato, french fries, macaroni salad or cole slaw.

Red Lobster is a national restaurant chain serving fresh seafood at reasonable prices. For your dinner, you can expect the seafood to be fresh and never frozen. Fishermen remove the fish from the water and immediately put it on ice and send it to Red Lobsters distribution center and then to the local restaurant. Hearty warm cheese biscuits and fresh crisp salads begin the experience. Then create your own shrimp special by choosing from crab and seafood stuff shrimp, barbecued bacon-wrapped shrimp, garlic cream shrimp, or pecan-crusted shrimp. Fresh fish comes prepared on the wood-fire grill, oven-broiled or blackened in half or full portions. Selections vary from day-to-day and can include Atlantic salmon, tilapia, rainbow trout, cod, and Gulf snapper. Entrees come with a salad, a side dish, and cheddar cheese biscuits. Look for other tasty specials that are offered for a limited time and vary throughout the year. Lunch and dinner available.
