New England Aquarium

• Ideal for your family outing, the New England Aquarium combines entertainment and education about the world of the sea. The aquarium's focal point is the huge ocean tank, featuring sharks, eels and fish of all kinds.

  Bring your baby to the New England Aquarium to enjoy watching the strange creatures swim all around them. The Curious George Center hosts story time and art projects. There are live-animal presentations in the Curious George Center each Friday morning.

Faneuil Hall Marketplace

• Babies will enjoy the colors and action of the Faneuil Hall Marketplace. Purchase toys from some of the 125 shops, and stop to enjoy a meal at one of the many family-friendly restaurants.

  Magicians, musicians, clowns and jugglers perform in the streets, providing entertainment for parents and babies alike. These performers can be spotted day to day, and planned performances occur throughout the year.

  Scheduled events occur annually, including the Fourth of July Harborfest, the Annual Street Performer's Festival, Summer Concert Series, and the Holiday Tree Lighting Ceremony.

Swan Boats

• Soothe your baby on a calm Swan Boat ride, an inexpensive treat that has been a part of Boston's history since the 1870s. The peaceful 15-minute tour takes you around the 24-acre Public Garden Lagoon. Your Swan Boat paddler is seated in the rear of your boat.

  Swan Boat rides are only available during warm-weather months, as the pond freezes during the winter and the boats must be removed. Rides cost $1 for children and $2.50 for adults.
