While not as high of an observatory as the Empire State Building, the Top Of The Rock observatory at Rockefeller Center is a popular place to go. At 70 stories high, the deck gives a gorgeous panoramic view of the city from the woodlands of Central Park all the way south to the South Street Seaport. The deck is open nightly until midnight, offering guests comfortable nighttime viewing.
The Top Of The Rock is open 365 days of the year in all types of weather, although extreme weather may close portions of the deck. While there is no restaurant or bar up on the deck, there are a number of options in Rockefeller Center. Guests may purchase tickets in advance online or by calling the box office. Tickets purchased in advanced give guests a specific time slot for their viewing experience.

Located in the same space where Texas Guinan operated her Prohibition-era speakeasy, Flute Bar offers a romantic ambiance during the early evenings and then morphs into a sexy atmosphere in the late night. Visitors dance on the weekends to the live music presented by a DJ or jazz ensembles. The bar features plush comfortable furniture and lots of space with nooks and corners, giving couples a feeling of privacy. An extensive list of wines, wine-based cocktails and champagnes highlight a menu with appetizers, fruits, cheeses and sushi.
Flute recommends table reservations. The bar opens at 4 p.m. every day and closes at 2 a.m. on Sundays through Wednesdays, 3 a.m. on Thursdays and 4 a.m. on Fridays and Saturdays.
