Nebraska's fertile prairies are dotted with lakes perfect for riding jet skis. While lakes abound in Omaha, Nebraska's largest city, jet skis are not permitted in most of them. However, bordering Omaha is the Missouri River, which allows access for personal watercraft. In addition, a short drive from Omaha there are several state recreational lakes, which allow jet skis plus there are several venues in Iowa.
The only public lake in Omaha, which allows personal watercraft, is Levi Carter Lake. This 500-acre park is close to Omaha's airport, Eppley Airfield. In addition to a marina for water sports, there are basketball courts, football fields and baseball fields. Pavilions and shelters are available for picnics and there are open spaces for throwing Frisbees.
