Lakes Near High Point, NC

High Point’s name comes from the fact that it was once the highest point on the North Carolina Railroad line between Goldsboro and Charlotte. Located in central North Carolina, High Point is well-known for its furniture industry. Millions of people visit the town twice a year for the Furniture Market (highpointmarket.org). High Point, however, has more to offer than just finely crafted furniture. A visit to High Point should also include trips to the lakes found in and around the city to see the trees surrounding the banks which will eventually become the pieces of furniture the city is known for.
