Caddo Lake, Texas Camping

Covering more than 26,000 acres in northeast Texas and northwest Louisiana, Caddo Lake is the only natural lake in Texas of any significant size and the South's largest natural lake. Camping and recreation activities abound in the lake area.

  1. Tent Camping

    • Caddo Lake State Park in Karnack, Texas, and Potters Point in Jefferson, Texas, both offer tent camping sites on and near Caddo Lake.

    RV Camping

    • Shady Glade Resort and Uncertain RV Park in Uncertain, Texas, as well as Caddo Lake Sate Park, offer RV camping sites with water and electricity hookups.

    Fees

    • Caddo Lake State Park has and entrance fee of $2 per day, per person 13 years and older. Camping fees vary based on the campground. Most of Lake Caddo campgrounds offer weekly rates.

    Recreation

    • Caddo Lake offers its visitors many recreation opportunities. Fishing, birding and canoeing are examples of activities outdoor enthusiasts enjoy on Caddo Lake.

    Facilities

    • Most Caddo Lake campgrounds have restrooms with showers, picnic sites and boat ramps.
