Orange Beach, Alabama, is a popular gulf coast tourist destination. While the town is small, its major attraction, The Wharf, contains many of the most enjoyable activities in the area. The Wharf is a fully functional marina with an equipped slip rental on its gulf side, if you wish to approach in a boat.   1. Ferris Wheel at The Wharf

    • This Ferris wheel is the tallest in the Southeastern United States. It is open Tuesday through Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m.; Friday from 4 to 11 p.m.; Saturday from 11a.m. to 11 p.m.; and Sunday from noon to 8 p.m.. The Ferris wheel is closed Sundays.

    The Golf Club of The Wharf

    • The Golf Club of The Wharf has a state-of-the-art plantation-style course designed by Jay and Carter Morrish, with 18 championship holes, doglegs, bunkers, water hazards, all designed with deference to the fantastic surrounding views. This course first opened in 1960 as the first golf course in the gulf shores area and underwent a major renovation in 2005, extending the championship length to 6,812 yards. The Golf Club of The Wharf has a luxurious and comfortable clubhouse in which players can relax.

    The Oasis

    • The Oasis at The Wharf is a relaxation spot for families. There are two regular swimming pools, one zero-entry pool, and a lagoon pool. The Oasis offers a children's area with a lazy river. The surrounding area is replete with waterfalls, beaches and palm trees. A hammock area and spa area allow guests to relax while enjoying a drink or a snack from the tiki bar.

    Fishing Program

    • The Wharf offers a guided boat fishing program for fishermen with all levels of expertise. One of the experienced fishing guides will take you out to the best spots in the nearby gulf waters in one of the program's fully equipped fishing boats and teach you the best strategies for hooking indigenous fish species.

    The Amphitheater

    • The Amphitheater at The Wharf is equipped with 10,000 seats in a tiered style that allows for unencumbered viewing. A large screen positioned on either side of the stage ensures every audience member feels as if they are sitting in the front row. The Amphitheater at The Wharf hosts many famous acts each year, and major performers such as Pat Green, Sugarland and Three Dog Night have graced its stage.
