Free Attractions in Myrtle Beach

While the most popular free attraction in Myrtle Beach is undoubtedly the beach itself, there are several other free attractions worth checking out. You don't need to run up your vacation budget spending hundreds of dollars each day on entertainment and theme park passes to enjoy a Myrtle Beach vacation.

  1. South Carolina Hall of Fame

    • Although founded 1973, the South Carolina Hall of Fame was designated as the official hall of fame for the state only in 2001. This educational attraction is located in the Myrtle Beach Convention Center, and admission is free seven days a week for visitors of all ages. The hall of fame catalogs famous South Carolinians, including figures like former President Andrew Jackson, Sen. Strom Thurmond and astronaut Charles M. Duke. It's said that Duke carried a South Carolina flag even into outer space.

Spread out over 350 acres, Broadway at the Beach is made up of souvenir shops, boutiques, dining venues and entertainment centers. Warbird Park

    • Between 1954 and 1993, Myrtle Beach was home to an active Air Force base. The base's runway has now been converted into a civilian runway, but you can visit the area and see a memorial built to pay tribute to the men and women who served. At Warbird Park there is a viewing area to watch planes land and take off at the runway. There are also paved bike trails to ride on and historic aircraft on display.
