    • Bordered on the east by the Atlantic Ocean and on the west by the Banana River, Satellite Beach rises 19 feet above sea level, covers 2.38 square miles of land and boasts 2.8 miles of beaches.

    • Satellite Beach boasts average temperatures for winter of highs in the low 70s and lows in the low 50s F. Summer highs average near 90 degrees, with lows in the low 70s.

    Population

    • According to the U.S. Census Bureau's 2000 Census, the population of Satellite Beach stood at 9,577 with 4,257 housing units and a population density of 4,030 people per square mile.

    Founding

    • Although Stephanie Snaith occupied the first house in 1951, residents did not vote to incorporate until August 1957 as the Town of Satellite Beach. Workers from Cape Canaveral originally populated the area.

    • Satellite Beach boasts five Brevard County public schools with three elementary schools, one middle school and one high school.
