Family Kingdom is one of the most famous attractions in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. It is the only seaside amusement park on the 60 miles of sandy beach in Myrtle Beach. Built in the early 1950s and owned by the same family since 1965, Cherry Grove Pier is a favorite destination and attraction in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. The pier features a two-story observation deck at its end that was famously torn off during Hurricane Floyd's visit in 1999, after the original pier was destroyed in 1989's Hurricane Hugo. The pier is also famous as the home of world record fishing. A 1,780-pound Tiger Shark and a 98-pound Tarpon were caught here. Visitors can go on fishing trips from the pier or stock up on fishing supplies at the Tackle, Bait and Gift Shop.
