Of all the decades, there seems to be a lasting fondness for the 1980's. Punctuated by leg warmers and the music of Duran Duran, the 1980's was a time of carefree fun, bright colors and musical experimentation. Although Culture Club, a dance club exclusively devoted to 80's music, has closed, New York City is still home to other 80's-themed clubs located in the East Village and midtown Manhattan.
The Pyramid Club, located in the East Village at 101 Avenue A between 6th & 7th Streets, is a dance hall that presents different theme nights on weekdays. Thursday nights are 80's Party night featuring 80's, new wave and Brit pop music. Doors are open from 9 p.m. to 4 a.m.

One of the oldest dance clubs in the city, Webster Hall was a very popular club in the 1980's when it was known as the Ritz. The current club boasts three floors, each featuring a different dance music genre, and is home to various themed events, including the interactive show Awesome 80's Prom. A popular event for bachelorette and class reunion parties, the cast of the prom mimic various 80's high school students including the jock and the nerd.

The Triumph Room, a dance club located on the lower level of Providence Restaurant, is located at 311 W 57th St (between 8th and 9th Avenue). Featuring over-sized chairs, a dance floor adorned with a disco ball and walls adorned with signed CDs from popular 80's musicians including Meat Loaf and Guns N' Roses, Triumph features 80's music on Friday nights.
