New York City outdoor clubs are comprised of people interested in outdoor activities like skiing, hiking, canoeing, biking and even summiting mountains. The home-bases for these clubs are New York City proper, but they will go outside of the city to access some of the natural regions nearby. These clubs give outdoor enthusiasts chances to meet like-minded individuals.
This non-profit club travels around the New York City area, and most of their activities can be accessed via public transportation. Open to adults ages 18 and older, the club focuses on outdoor activities like hiking, snowshoeing, walking tours, mountaineering, biking and canoeing. Activities will range in difficulty, and some guides may turn away participants that do not have the correct physical abilities or who do not have the correct equipment or clothing. Club members should only sign up for activities that meet their physical capabilities, but there are many activities geared towards beginners. Club members must pay dues every two years, and non-members will be required to pay a one-day membership if they wish to participate in an activity.
