Exclusive Night Clubs in NYC

New York City is a busy tourist destination known to offer some of the most famous nightclubs in the world. If you find yourself ready to relax after exploring Times Square, Broadway and Central Park, you won't have any trouble finding a place to drink and dance a bit. Part of the NYC club experience is the challenge of getting into some of the most exclusive clubs in the city.

  1. Kiss and Fly

    • You can make a reservation at Kiss and Fly but if the doorman does not like what he sees in regard to your appearance, you could be ushered away quickly. This club is famous for celebrity visits mainly due to the fact that the music played here is not often heard in The United States. European DJs are flown in to NYC to spin tracks here under flashing LED lights that illuminate interesting design features such as Roman Columns and a dead-on copy of the ceiling of The Sistine Chapel. Count on spending money here if you do make it past the entrance. As of April, 2010, custom-mixed cocktails started at about $16 each. A price is no object attitude and designer clothes will go a long way at Kiss and Fly.

    Milk and Honey

    • Do what you can to contact Milk and Honey before you make your trip to NYC. This bar has a very-strict reservations-only policy and famously does not publish its phone number. You have to know where to look. You have to know someone or have some sort of insider information. Try to butter up locals in the downtown area for information or maybe get a tour guide or taxi driver to divulge some secret information. It will be worth your trouble when you are allowed inside one of the most famous and exclusive clubs in all of New York City. Unlike many other hot party spots in NYC, Milk and Honey is known to be quiet enough for people to actually enjoy conversations. For a taste of the exotic, order a whimsical cocktail such as a Pisco Sour with Orange Flower Water.

Milk and Honey lists an interesting set of "house rules" on its Web site. There is no hooting, hollering, or name dropping allowed, and if you happen to be in the midst of a celebrity it is a strict policy that you let that person enjoy their experience without being bothered unless of course they call you over to them.

    230 Fifth

    • This party space sits perched high above Manhattan and is made up of a rooftop garden area and a strictly invitation-only top-floor lounge area. The rooftop dance floor is open to all visitors, but the quieter top-floor lounge offers a more exclusive NYC experience that often hosts celebrities and other members of the elite class. If you can get into the lounge, expect to shell out a minimum of $250 for bottle service. Sip on your drinks in the midst of haute coutre furnishings created specifically for the club by famed designers such as Vladamir Kagam and Carlo Mollion. One of the most well known features of the private lounge are the floor-to-ceiling windows that provide long panoramic views of the city skyline with straight-on views of the Empire State and Chrysler buildings.
