    Georgia Music Hall of Fame, Macon

    • What do Otis Redding, Ray Stevens, Alan Jackson, Little Richard, James Brown, Chet Atkins, Lena Horne, Ray Charles, Lynyrd Skynyrd and the Indigo Girls have in common? They each have Georgia roots and are inductees of the Georgia Music Hall of Fame in Macon. The museum honors songwriters, performers, composers and genres through interactive exhibits that highlight the history of music in Georgia. Tune Town, designed to look like a small town, has buildings representing differing music genres. Bluegrass, rhythm and blues, gospel, jazz, country, folk, traditional, rock and roll and urban contemporary are represented in Tune Town. A children’s education area features interactive displays in a spacious 2,400-square-foot area. Children can make music as well as learn about it. Macon is a Mecca for museums. Visit the Tubman African American Museum, Georgia Children’s Museum, Museum of Arts & Sciences, Sidney Lanier Cottage, or Georgia Sports Hall of Fame during your stay.

    World of Coca Cola, Atlanta

    • Atlanta is the birthplace of Coca Cola. The World of Coca Cola expanded its collection and reopened in a new 20-acre location downtown in 2007, across from Centennial Olympic Park. Among the new additions is the collection of 1,200 artifacts from around the world. One of the new interactive exhibits is a 4D movie and gallery focusing on Coca Cola and pop culture. In the tasting room, you can taste 60 different soft drinks from many different countries worldwide. Allot 90 minutes to see the museum.
