The International Air Transport Association (IATA) is an industry trade organization that represents over 200 airlines from over 115 countries. As part of its services to its member airlines, IATA provides highly-regarded training courses, diplomas and certificates in a wide variety of fields including numerous airline management programs. Specialized programs are offered in areas including airline, cargo or safety management. IATA has six designated international training centers in Geneva, Montreal, Beijing, Miami, Singapore and Delhi, and dozens of smaller affiliate training centers. IATA also offers distance learning programs featuring e-learning or self study options.
The Joint Aviation Authority, the European aviation regulatory body, also offers airline management courses through the JAA Training Organization (JAATO). The organization has training locations in the Netherlands, Serbia, Austria, the United Kingdom, Malta and other locations including some outside of Europe. JAA offers management-oriented courses including Logistics Management, Introduction to Airline Regulations, Safety Management Systems, Operations Training and many others. Courses are available at training centers and can be arranged at special locations if required. Courses range between 1000 and 5000 Euros.
While more well-known for its undergraduate and graduate degree programs, Embry-Riddle University also has non-degree programs for airline professionals who wish to increase their expertise. ERAU has campuses in Daytona Beach, Florida and Prescott, Arizona, and also has a Worldwide Online campus. ERAU offers a Corporate Aviation Management Program or Professional Certificate Programs in Management, Safety, Security, Logistics, Air Transport Management, Project Management. A Certificate of Management in Aviation Safety, a series of three courses, is also offered. Some classes can be used toward an undergraduate or graduate degree, or transferred to other schools if desired.
The Institute of Airline Economics and Management Studies (IAEMS) offers "a range of training programs and research services, all aimed at supporting and developing professionals in the air transport & tourism sectors." IAEMS offers areas of study such as airline business management, airport planning & operations, air transport and tourism development. Courses are offered both on physical campuses in California, and through e-learning online. An Executive Education Program is also offered. Courses for Diploma Programs vary in cost from $1099 to $2450.
