The goal of this program is provide a standard for training and certification across the Canadian provinces and territories. Students who graduate from the journeyperson level will have the ability to work anywhere in Canada.

The Industry Training Authority is British Columbia has a comprehensive industry training body for apprenticeship programs. There are close to 140 apprenticeships available through ITA, and it provides information on how to obtain your certification in these trades.

Okanagan College in the Okanagan Valley of British Columbia offers apprenticeship programs in aircraft maintenance,construction trades, collision repair, culinary arts, mechanical building trades, motor vehicle trades and welding
There are certain pre-requisites to enter the apprenticeship programs. These requirements can be found on the school's website. The school also offers Entry Level Trades Training (ELTT) classes. Those who complete the above apprenticeships qualify for Red Seal Journeyperson status. This means that he/she can work anywhere in Canada without having to be re-certified.
