How to Apply for Frequent Flyer Miles

All major airlines offer passengers the opportunity to enroll in their frequent flyer program. Though each airline's program goes by a different name, the concept is the same. You fly with your airline, you earn points for each mile flown and you begin using your miles to book reward travel once you've accumulated a certain amount of miles. To enroll in your favorite airline's frequent flyer miles program --or every airline's frequent flyer mile program, if you want -- fill out an enrollment form online or on your next flight.

  Visit the website of any airline with which you are interested in becoming a frequent flyer program member.

  Locate the link to the frequent flyer mile program on the airline's homepage. Click on it and begin the enrollment form.

  Provide the airline with your name, address, phone number, email address, birthdate and create a user name and password so you can log on to your frequent flyer mile account at any time to check your balance or book flights.

  Review the information you entered, correct any mistakes and submit your enrollment. The confirmation page contains your new frequent flyer mile program number. Use this number every time you book a flight on your airline to receive miles.
