Delta Airline Baggage Information

Delta is one of America's biggest airline companies, providing global travel to more than 350 destinations in approximately 70 countries over six continents. Baggage restrictions are regularly updated and special items may incur an extra fee.
  1. Carry-On

    • Delta Airlines permits passengers to carry on one bag and one personal item at no charge. All items must easily fit into the overhead bin or under the seat. Additional items such as a jacket, umbrella, food or drink purchased after clearing the security checkpoint, and duty-free merchandise are permitted and do not count as personal items. Carry-on baggage is not to exceed 45 linear inches.

    Checked Baggage

    • Checked baggage must weigh 50 pounds or less. The baggage's combined length, width and height must measure 62 inches or less. An extra cost will be incurred if baggage exceeds the weight or size limits.

    Special Items

    • Special items such as strollers, child-restraint seats or assistive devices, including wheelchairs or crutches, are permitted. These items are allowed as carry-ons and do not incur an extra fee. Items such as musical instruments and sports equipment are required to be checked and may incur an extra fee.
