How to Change Continental Airlines Tickets

Changing your airline tickets in this day and age can be a hassle. The rules are complex, always seem to change and vary based on what fare what ticket fare was. While Continental Airlines does allow passengers to alter tickets, they're no exception to this confusion. Fees and the ability to change tickets depend on several factors, such as when the change request is made, the type of ticket and who actually owns the reservation.

Instructions

    • 1

Consider when the ticket was purchased. Due to federal regulations, if the ticket was purchased within the last 24 hours, the airline must give a refund. In this case, cancel the current reservation and rebook the flight.

    • 2

Call Continental Airlines' customer service if the scheduled flight departure is longer than 24 hours. Ask to change the reservation and about any cancellation or change fees.

    • 3

Log onto your OnePass account on the Continental Airlines website. Choose the option to change your flight.

    • 4

Request a same-day flight change at either the airport check-in kiosk, online check-in or from a Continental Airlines representative (at the airport or over the phone). You can only change flight times for same-day changes, not departure or arrival airports.
