Airlines That Fly From Hong Kong to Hanoi

Separated by more than 500 miles, travel between Hanoi, Vietnam and Hong Kong, China by car or train can be a headache. For this reason, three airlines provide service between Hong Kong's Chek Lap Kok Airport and Hanoi's Noi Bai Airport. As of February, 2010, Cathay Pacific Airlines, China Southern Airlines and Vietnam Airlines all fly between these two Asian metropolitan cities.

  1. Cathay Pacific Airlines

    • Based at Hong Kong's international airport, Cathay Pacific provides the most daily flights out of the country. Utilizing Airbus A321 aircraft for the relatively short two-hour flight to Hanoi, travelers enjoy a quiet and spacious cabin. While airline ticket prices vary greatly due to economic variables, as of February, 2010, a departure date booked a week in advance costs approximately $700 round trip. Vietnam Airlines

    • With its hub in the capital city of Hanoi, Vietnam Airlines also operates Airbus A321 aircraft on direct flights between Hanoi and Hong Kong. As of February, 2010, the base fare for the flight is approximately $450. Although slightly cheaper than Cathay Pacific Airlines, Vietnam Airlines only provides two daily flights between the cities compared with Cathay Pacific's four.
