Prices for airline seats depend on when you bought your ticket, how many tickets had been sold prior, and where your seat is located on the plane. The person sitting beside you on the plane could have paid significantly less for his ticket than you did for yours. However, there is something you can do to ensure that you are being charged a fair rate for your ticket.
Find your flight confirmation information. This will include the price of the ticket, confirmation number and the seat information (depending on the airline).
Check the rate your flight is currently being offered for. It is always smart to continuously do this, especially if you bought your tickets in significantly in advance of your departure date.
Call the airline directly to dispute the discrepancy in the charges. Some options would be to consider vouchers for a future flight or a refund on the difference.
Be persistent. The airline is in this to make money and its sets prices based on the supply and demand of the flight. If the person you are speaking with isn't able to help you, request to speak with their supervisor.
