How to get good airline seats

If you always end up in the full row on a plane when there's plenty of vacant seats... this is for you

Instructions

    • 1

Airline seating is allocated from the front of the plane to the back and from the outside in. If you're after some extra room and are not in a rush to be first off the plane, then ask for a seat towards the back of the plane in the 'centre block'.

Now board your flight LAST. That's right. Make sure your last on the plane and you will be essentially able to pick your own seat. Seating allocation is certainly checked in Business and First class, but not Economy class.

If you get the whole row, as soon as you take off, you can put up the arm-rests and sleep (quickly.... people who come searching for seats are less likely to wake a sleeping person.
