Spirit Airlines is the first "Ultra-Low-Cost" carrier in the United States, promoting that passengers don't have to pay for services they don't intend to use. However, purchasing their low fares doesn't come without some restrictions.
Undoubtedly, Spirit's most popular and common fare available for travel is its $9 fare. Spirit regularly makes this price reduction available on their routes with the most unsold seats.
Purchasing the sale fare requires a membership to Spirit's "$9 Fare Club." A 60-day trial membership may be purchased for $9. Following the trial membership, the club requires an annual fee of $39.99 per member.
Though a membership to the Fare Club has been purchased, Spirit makes no guarantee that the sale fares will still be available when the membership owner decides to make a reservation.
The person holding the Fare Club membership must be traveling on the $9 fare. The fare offer may be extended to those travelers traveling with the membership owner. If a change to the ticket is required, the member is subject to applicable change fees.
Each fare sale Spirit or one of it's partners initiates is subject to its own set of terms and conditions, aside from those already agreed to for membership into the $9 fare club.
It's best to remember that Spirit Airlines can add, delete or change any benefits provided to $9 Fare Club members without notice. By becoming a member you agree to join the "Free Spirit" frequent flier program and receive advertisement emails from Spirit Airlines.
