Air Travel to Geneva

Geneva is Switzerland's capital and a bustling city of 453,000. It is one of the largest cities in the country and a popular tourist destination because of its ski resorts and lakefront. It has a small-town feel with many shops and museums to peruse. The easiest way to travel to Geneva is by air. All flights land at Geneva International Airport, including these airlines.

  1. British Airways

    • If you are traveling to Geneva from the United Kingdom you can take British Airways. It is not the cheapest way to travel, with flights costing between 66 GBP and 312 GBP each way in July of 2009. Flights leave Gatwick Airport from five to seven times daily and Heathrow Airport from 8 to 10 times daily.

    U.S. carriers

    • Those traveling to Geneva from the United States can choose to take a variety of flights, including those offered by United Airlines, American Airlines and Continental Airlines. Round-trip tickets were running approximately $1,000 in July of 2009.

    Norwegian

    • A popular airline in Scandinavia is Norwegian. The airline offers departures from all major cities in Norway and Sweden, but in July 2009 offered only one daily arrival in Geneva from each country.

    Air France

    • Use Air France when traveling from France or Barcelona, Spain to Geneva. Air France lands in all major cities in between or offers direct flights. Planes leave once every two hours for Geneva from Paris.

    EasyJet

    • EasyJet is one of the most popular airlines in Europe because of its budget pricing. If you scheduled your flight to Geneva far enough in advance, your round-trip flight cost as little as $40 in 2009.
