How to Fold Clothes On Board Ships

After a fun filled cruise, the last night is usually spent folding and packing clothes in preparation for disembarkation. To fold clothes on board ships may seem like a challenge due to cramped space or rough waters. Cabins are normally small and do not offer much table space, so it is usually easiest to fold clothes on the bed. Place an open suitcase on one side of the bed and fold clothes on the other. For stabilization, you may want to sit on the bed while folding.

Instructions

    • 1

Stack t-shirts and tank tops by laying them flat inside of suitcase, only tucking in what needs to be folded in order to lay flat in the suitcase.

    • 2

Lay pants down flat on the bed or table if it is large enough. Fold left leg on top of the right leg tucking in the crotch to make a straight line down the length of the pants. Fold waist to the center and then fold in half.

    • 3

Fasten all the buttons on shirts and blouses, and then lay flat on the bed. Fold in one-third from each side and then three times lengthwise. Place them in your suitcase by alternating collar directions to save room and prevent the collars from being crushed.

    • 4

Finish packing the suitcases by laying underwear and socks flat on the top of the rest of the clothes.

    • 5

Roll instead of folding. Stack like clothing such as pants on top of pants, pajamas on pajamas and t-shirts on t-shirts. Tightly roll them together into a bundle. Alternatively roll each individual item of clothing.
