How to Fold a Beach Cabana

A beach cabana provides shade while beach goers lounge, relax or take a nap under its protective shelter. A beach cabana -- also called a beach tent -- is constructed with heavy-duty nylon or polyurethane-coated fabric to offer UV protection. Beach cabanas generally look somewhat like an open camping-tent without a floor. Windows and storm flaps are integrated into many cabana designs. Due to numerous styles and models of these shelters, set up and disassembly varies.

Instructions

    • 1

Remove all reinforcements -- such as ground stakes, pegs or sand bags -- from the cabana.

    • 2

Take out and disconnect the cabana's frame materials. These might include locking hooks, upper and lower hubs, leg joints, shock-corded poles and pins. Set the removable materials aside.

    • 3

Let the canopy of the cabana fall flat on the ground. Brush or wipe off any debris, sand or dirt that might have collected on the fabric.

    • 4

Spread the cabana flat on the ground or on a clear surface.

    • 5

Fold the fabric corners into the center. Slowly roll one end of the fabric, squeezing out excess air as you go.

    • 6

Fold the rolled-up fabric into the appropriate size for its carry bag. Place the cabana fabric and all assembly materials in the bag.
