Select your bus company. Greyhound, Coach Canada and MegaBus all travel international bus routes to Montreal. Charter bus companies on the east coast of the United States, like Sunshine Travel, also offer sightseeing trips to Montreal.
Plan your route. Enter your departure point and destination at Greyhound.com or CoachCanada.com to see the times and routes available. MegaBus.com requires you to book direct travel between cities. The MegaBus entry point to Canada from the United States is Toronto; therefore, you must first book a ticket from your starting point in the U.S. to Toronto, then a separate ticket from Toronto to Montreal. Bus touring companies will generally already have a set route---or a few routes---planned, from which you can choose.
Enter your credit card information to book online at Greyhound or Coach Canada, or book your ticket in person at the departure station. MegaBus requires you to book online and carry a confirmation code with you when traveling. You must book in advance, either online or by calling the company, when touring with a travel company.
Show your ticket or confirmation code to the driver when boarding the bus at the beginning of your journey. Put your ticket or code in a safe place, in case you need it again.
Use Transdev Limocar or Orleans Express to travel from other towns in Quebec to Montreal. Orleans Express has a more extensive network within Quebec, but both companies service Montreal from other main cities in the province.
Choose the departure and arrival cities from the list provided on either Transdev Limocar or Orleans Express's website, and enter your travel dates.
Enter your credit card information to book online and have your tickets delivered to you.
Show your ticket to the bus driver when departing. Save the ticket until the end of your trip.
