The state of Oregon offers visitors city life, rustic countrysides, and beaches on the Pacific. You can travel to Oregon by any popular means of transportation, but traveling by bus is one of the most economical methods. Getting to Oregon by bus involves the same steps as getting to any other state, though you may have to bring warm clothes if you're traveling in the winter.
Call your local bus station and ask when the next bus for Oregon leaves.
Arrive at the bus station one hour before the scheduled departure time. Purchase your ticket from the terminal agent. Get a seat in the waiting room as close to the terminal door as possible. Most buses board on a first come, first serve basis, so the closer you are to the front of the line the more likely you are to get a seat.
Hand your bags to the baggage handler when the bus starts boarding. The baggage handler will load the bags into the hold of the bus, under the seats.
Select your seat. Bring something to entertain yourself while on the bus, such as a music player with headphones, a book, or a small craft project like knitting. If you plan to sleep, keep your purse or wallet out of sight.
Make any necessary bus transfers. If you're coming from more than one state away from Oregon, you may have to make several transfers. Most bus lines require the passenger to be responsible for baggage transfers from one bus to the next, so when you get off the first bus, make sure to claim your bag. Hand it to the baggage handler of your connecting bus.
