Bus Stations in Washington

Washington State's largest metropolitan areas have bus stations close to the major interstates. Travelers can use them to connect to long-distance, local or regional public transit systems. The states two major private bus lines are Northwestern Trailways and Greyhound. They operate at more than 100 bus stations and stops throughout the state.
  1. Tacoma Dome Station

    • The Tacoma Dome Station serves as a major regional travel hub. Travelers can link up with the light-rail system and go to popular destinations such as the University of Washington campus or the nearby cities of Bellevue and Redmond. The ST Express Regional Bus system and Sounder Commuter Rail Line, which runs to Seattle, also stop there. The Amtrak and Greyhound stations lie less than five blocks away. The Tacoma Dome opens before the first trains and buses leave around 5 a.m. The station offers parking.

    Seattle Greyhound Bus Station

    • The Seattle Greyhound Bus Station lies in the north part of the downtown area. Besides selling bus tickets, it offers Greyhound Package Express service for customers who want to ship packages. Customers traveling with a bicycle can purchase a box large enough to transport it by bus. The station, open from 7 a.m. until 12:30 a.m., lies just blocks away from a mall and coffeeshops.

    The Plaza Bus Station In Spokane

    • The Spokane Transit Authority operates The Plaza on West Riverside Avenue in the downtown area. Commuters can catch a bus to almost any part of the city at the station, which also lies less than 10 blocks from the Amtrak and Greyhound stations. The Plaza has three floors, with a street-level waiting area, a security office in the basement and customer service on the top floor. The station opens at 5 a.m. weekdays and closes at 11:30 p.m. On Saturdays it opens at 6:30 a.m. and closes at 9:20 p.m. Sunday hours span from 8 a.m. to 7:20 p.m. The Plaza has a shop that sells passes and also has a lost-and-found.
