River cruising is an adventure no matter what type of boat you pick from Portland Spirit. There are big luxury liners, jet boats, and sternwheel riverboats; all cruise along the Columbia or Williamette River. Most of the cruises are family-oriented and children are welcomed. There are even special programs for the kids such as the sailor training program where they get to participate, learn about ships and even earn a captain's certificate (honorary). For the over-21 crowds, Portland Spirit also offers cruises that are adult-only. Dining cruises are available, and all boats are available for private charter.

From bow to stern, the Sternwheeler Rose is appointed luxuriously for your comfort. Air-conditioned cabins and polished wood and padded upholstery in an old-west feeling brocade give the ship an enduring feel as it churns down the river. Cruises begin in the Holgate Channel and venture out onto the Williamette River. Brunch and dinner cruises include buffet-style meals, beverages, and deserts. Boarding takes place behind the OMSI facility on SE Water Avenue.

Owned by Captain Steve, a licensed Coast Guard Captain, the unique Williamette River Tours travel at high speeds on individual tours of the major tourist areas and the paths less traveled where nature is at its best. The Williamette River Tour boats are 21-foot vessels and tours contain 5 to 6 people maximum for a private view of the surrounding country. River tours and fishing trips are both available as well as hire for special events. Public river tours run from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and last 1 ½ hours.
